Dr. Melissa Cole is both a clinician and an educator. She has been a registered nurse for over 37 years and an adult geriatric nurse practitioner for over 8 years. Her current experiences include as a nurse educator for a graduate nursing program and as a telehealth nurse practitioner. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked in labor and delivery, high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, emergency room, surgery, telemetry, diabetes management, public health, hospice, and home health care. Her current passion and expertise are in caring for the elderly and disabled populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, specifically those suffering from health inequities and social determinants of health. Melissa serves as an authority on the gerontologic certification exam.
