The NCSN Review Course provides a comprehensive and up-to- date review of school nursing based on the NCSN Exam content outline. Participants receive information that will not only promote certification exam success, but will also enhance school nursing practice.

About the course instructor:

Janice Selekman, DNSc, RN, NCSN, FNASN

thumb_janiceDr. Janice Selekman is well known to school nurses as the developer and editor of School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text, now in its third edition. In addition, she is the author of the School Nursing Certification Review. She has spent her entire career in pediatric nursing as a nursing educator and a Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is a well‑respected national speaker and a prolific author of more than 100 publications, especially focusing on topics ranging from chronic conditions in children, adolescent high‑risk behaviors, mental/behavioral health, violence, and sexual/gender health in children. She has won numerous educator and service awards from the National Association of School Nurses, the National Board for Certification of School Nurses, the Society of Pediatric Nurses, Thomas Jefferson University, the University of Pittsburgh, and the State of Delaware. Dr. Selekman received her BSN from the University of Pittsburgh and both her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Pediatrics, and her Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Professor Emeritus from the University of Delaware, where she served as Chair of the Department of Nursing. Dr. Selekman is a Nationally Certified School Nurse and a Fellow in the National Academy of School Nurses.
